Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are due to open this year’s Plaistow Maypole Fete on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May, from 12pm – 4pm.
The traditional village fete on Plaistow village green (RH14 0PX), will include entertainment for all the family including a bouncy slide, fairground rides, pony rides, face painting and more. Plus, refreshments including a BBQ, beer tent, Pimms and Prosecco and cream teas.
This year, to celebrate Plaistow Pre-School’s 50th anniversary, the Pre-School children will be dressed as characters from the 1960’s for their dance around the Maypole at 12pm.
We also have an exciting new addition to the Maypole Fete – our very own ‘Best in Show’ competitions! Are you a budding Bake Off contestant? Dab hand at flower arranging? Is there a Lego star in the family or a green fingered little one? Then come along and see if you have what it takes to be a village champion!
Our Best In Show competitions include ‘Best Family Favourite Cake’, ‘Best Seasonal Flower Arrangement’, ‘Infant Lego Design* (Yr2 and under) – House or Mickey & Minnie’, ‘Junior Lego Design* (Yr 3 and above) – Best Space Landing, ‘Best Tray Garden (Pre-school under 5’s)’.
