Maypole Fete

At Plaistow Preschool, we rely on fundraising support to enrich and enhance the learning experience for our children. Throughout the year, we host a variety of events to engage our community and raise essential funds. One of our key events is the annual Maypole Fete, a festive celebration that brings together families, friends, and the wider community for a day of fun, games, and traditional maypole dancing. Your participation and support in these events help us provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for our future generation, and we are immensely grateful for your continued generosity. Thank you for being a vital part of our community and contributing to the success of our preschool.

Join us for a brilliant day of family fun on Monday 5th May 2025, as we celebrate over 50 year of our traditional maypole dancing! Our little ones will proudly open the festivities at 12 noon, weaving colourful ribbons around the maypole, which always brings smiles to everyone’s faces.
This year’s fete promises to be our most exciting yet! Wander through an array of fantastic stalls showcasing talented local crafters, indulge in delicious homemade treats, try your luck at traditional games, bounce of the castles, ride the funfair, cheer on the dogs in our popular dog show, and tap your feet to live music throughout the day. With delicious food and refreshing drinks available, you can make a day of it with the whole family!

Your support makes all the difference to our preschool. Last year’s wonderful event raised over £7,000, which funded a fabulous outdoor classroom where our children can now play and learn whatever the weather! In these challenging times for early years settings, your attendance helps ensure our preschool continues to thrive and provide outstanding care for current and future generations of village children.
So come along, bring your friends and family, and let’s make this year’s Maypole Fete the best one yet! We can’t wait to see you there for a day filled with laughter, community spirit and wonderful memories in the making.
